Specialist Auctions are really starting to pick up now. There's some lovely militaria items on there, and lots of bargains to be found.

Another is WARSTUFF. They too have some great items.

I just had a quick trawl through 'Specialist Auctions' and certainly didn't get a good feeling. It seems to be just another ebay only the swastika is allowed.

Lots of sellers with low feedback numbers, poor quality photos, "i'm not an expert so it's up to you to decide on originality" disclaimers and even our old freind from Snyders Treasures is selling there. Caveat Emptor!

In all fairness Glenn, it's a fairly new site. eBay are alienating militaria sales, and forcing sellers and buyers elsewhere. A friend of mine had a mini K98 bayo letter opener removed... A LETTER OPENER! I had a mortar FIN removed. Only last week they removed a decomissioned Harrier!!

Sellers are having to find different channels, and Specialist Auctions is a good eBay alternative. I've bought a few things off there, and never had a problem.

As for authenticity, it all depends on what you're buying. Of course this forum is always very forthcoming in supplying opinions and thoughts on item authenticity.

Thanks for all the help, everyone. I'll be sure to look at all these sites...and stay away from those special few.

I've just completed my first transaction with Philipp Militaria.
Fast, easy and with good communication from the seller. The item arrived quickly and very well packed. Everything you would want or expect from a dealer. I would definitely go back.

I'm waiting on a Silver CCC from Phillip Militaria but given the postal 'service' in this country I'm not surprised it's taking awhile to arrive. As far as the dealer goes, I agree, great communication and fast despatch. Certainly one that is down as a favourite for me!
