    Default Unidentified badge

    Hi folks
I haven’t a clue where to post this. sorry.
I managed to acquire a small group of items from a house clearance.
In it I got a kuban shield and a SS rank collar tab.
I also got this white metal badge from the same house and do not have a clue as to what it is. It may just be a old badge from some other part of his life or there may be a possibility that it is military related. It appears to be a phoenix rising from the flames and is 40mm round.
All i know is the poor old soul served in the highland light infantry between 1942 and 1946.
If you happen to recognise it please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.

Obviously these phoenix badges are hard to identify, sorry I can't help.

Can you identify this badge or button? www.kellybadge.co.uk

    Jerry

From the attachment method, very likely a cap badge. From the symbols present - the silver/white cross on blue and the phoenix - my guess would be that it is Greek. Otherwise, no idea.

Thanks Jerry for those other interesting pointers. I never thought of Japanese or the likes.
HPL and Harry your thoughts were the same as mine due to the shade of blue and the cross, like on the Greek flag. I have had a look for something the same from there but with no luck.
As I say it may just be an old badge from anywhere that he may have picked up any time in his life.
I won’t give up on it.
    Thanks for your replies
