This poem is called running... I made it for my l.a lit poem assignment and my teacher was very impressed.. She said this is why im in honors Lit and Comp next year...

    Running

No stopping as I ran through the jungle
    Boots clapping
    Men yelling
    Bullets Screaming
The echo of rifle fire rang through the forest like thunder in a mountain valley
The explosions and the sound are like the war is inside me
I run as the world goes quiet
Everything is like a blur as I fall in the hole of sorrow and grief
All I think about is home and silence
I just want to go home

Great poem and very evocative, as Nick already posted. I'm not surprised the teacher was impressed.
