I'm sorry to hear about Bety, Adrian. The same exact thing happened to my neighbor's dog but with a lacrosse ball.

heart rending tale.
Very sad indeed.. And traumatizing as well. I've had an animal die a horribly painful death in my hands and there was nothing I could do to save it. I literally cried for a week. As for Bety, what's even sadder is the fact that she died because she was being rewarded . RIP
A sad incident and the same happened to the German Shepherd I had many years ago. I had given her to a friend as I had home issues, ie I had to find somewhere to live and could only get a flat if I did not have a dog, and he was playing with her one day when she choked on a ball and he took her straight to the vets but they could not save her. Very sad and I have never had a pet since then.

Jerry
Whatever its just an opinion.
That's awful mate, I'm sorry to read that.
Terrible, truly a shame.

I had an identical experience with my Malamute 5 odd years ago. I was lucky enough to get my hand down his throat and removed the ball.
Freeze passed away last year after a long and happy 15 years. He is missed I must say.
Cheers Adrian for this thread as it may make some aware of the danger of smallish balls and dogs with larger thoats. Good on ya.
All the best
Dave
