At this point, just let me add, once and for all: Yes, Han shot first.

At the risk of being a geek, that's not Han Solo's gun. He had a BlasTech Industries DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol.

It bears a remarkable resemblance to the Mauser C96 pistol but as Star Wars is a historical documentary series from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... we can only assume that the Germans and Mauser copied their pistol design from the original DL-44 design.

Here an interesting (IMO) run-down of the weapons used (and of the guns on which they are based) from the Star Wars universe:

While we are on the subject of slightly Nazi-esque sci-fi. Starship troopers reeks of it.
Yep, ST* is all nazi all the way - uniforms, ideology etc.
"Robocop" also has elements of it (same director).
Verhoeven himself (born 1938) has admitted to using imagry redolent of nazism.
He remembers marching soldiers from when a kid in Holland.

    *Speaking of shitty sequels.

Whilst 'Starship Troopers' sequels stink to high heaven, there is a promising sequel to 'Robocop' on the horizon.

Speaking of movie guns - here something for the movie and movie guns afficionados; tidbits from the once glorious and influential Stembridge Gun Rentals. A very impressive collection of weaponry. Hardware from this company has made apperances in MANY famous movies.

    "Whose revolver is that?"

"Its not a revolver, baby, its a blaster"

    "Whose blaster is that?"

    "Its Greedo's"

    "Who is Greedo?"

    (wait for it, waaaaaaiiiiiit!)

    ."Greedos dead, baby, Greedos dead."

    (Non-verbatim from Pulp Wars).

Actually, it wont be neccessary to whisk him away to the Rodian deposit, as a Tatooine bartender by the name of Wuher ground up Greedo's body to use in the creation of a perfect Hutt liquor

Did anyone play Star Wars Supremacy? Called Star Wars Rebellion outside of the UK. I love that game, full of arcane SW lore too.
