Never ever baulk at the price of books! OK, often they are not cheap, but most collectors books are done in fairly small print runs. These often sell out and in many cases they never get reprinted. As a result they go up in value just like actual militaria! Books are an investment, not only in monetary terms, but also in your collecting future. Without buying decent reference material you are doomed to failure. This is the big problem with collectors today. They want the shiney pretty things first. Books are the very first things a new collector should accquire. I have a large reference library built up over the years. This is why I am able to answer people's questions.
