how much does stuff usally run for
In Normandy? Sometimes up to four times as much as things are worth. Seriously, if you're planning on going, don't take militaria collecting money. There simply is no point! Go to the Museums instead!
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Yes, that is true as well. Most of the original items are low end like KVKs, Mutterkreuz, Verwundetenabzeichen etc but at extortionate prices (€175 for a KVK?). The fake items are generally the higher end items including uniforms and headwear. The shops are 'tourist traps' plain and simple.

I fake German Mother's cross for $130.00 which I was stupid enough to purchase.
That's ok, I saw a real one advertised as a 'German Mothers Cross for her dead soldier'
( surely thinking of Canadian Memorial Crosses ) They were asking $350 for it.......!
I know a guy who watched a woman bring a samurai sword into the local shop,
where the new owner was not 'up' on on militaria values at all. The woman
said her husband served in the Pacific and in Japan in WWII,
and that the sword was found in a cave.
After the woman sold the sword to the shop for $100, my buddy asked
how much it was. The store owner said $200. He went home with a
WWII hilted, officers family sword from the 1600's, worth about
$3,500. It is gorgeous.............!
