I have just finished this book. It is the first book regarding a Soviet frontline soldier I have read and I would recommend it, it is a good book in my opinion.

My reading for the past month solid had been a metric sh!tload of university articles (I think that’s the correct measurement? ) for my end of year essays. Topics have been on Democratic Peace Theory, Civil War, Terrorism, Thomas Friedman’s ‘Flat World’, and Huntington’s ‘Clash of Civilisations’.

Nearly at the end of Year 1 now, which means I’ll have plenty of time for summer reading, going to see if I can finish all 780 pages of Macpherson’s Battle Cry of Freedom!!

One of our neighbors is cleaning out their garage and gave us some
books she had found. I hope to read this one in the next day or two.

Finished Storm of Steel yesterday by Ernst Junger, must have read those last 100ish pages from Langemarck to his final assault in 3 days, fantastic book. The fighting positions he discussed are often quite confusing, due to the fluid nature with which he fought with his storm troopers often breaking the linear mould of thinking we have on trench positions. However, if one can put the visualising of trench positions to the back of their mind, it is one of the best books I have ever read. Ruhe in Frieden Ernst Junger.

I have now moved onto this and am currently 30 pages in this morning...

I feel left out... I don't have any WWII books except for the massive library of reference books up in Pennsylvania I have... I'm in Kentucky now.

Has anyone ever read Stuka Pilot by Hans Ulrich Rudel? I have several of his planes in War thunder, and I think it would be an interesting read, but I'm not to fond of the idea that he was a hitler supporter to the end. Is it filled with ideology or war stories? I like war stories, not nazi policy.
