Whats behind your profile name?

Mine isn't real exciting, no family relation or special meaning.

helmet - helmets are the main part of my collection and the first German item I ever bought.

one - that first item (helmet) was an M40 Heer helmet, and was my first combat helmet.

[Time Bandit]

My user name on this and every other forum I've been on or go on is Time Bandit. I started using this many, many years ago as a CB handle in the early '80s, it was just after the film Time Bandits had been released and I thought it was a cool name to use. I gave up on the CB lark after a short while and the Time Bandit name went into hibernation for about 20 years until about 2001 when I arrived into the 21st century and bought a computer and ended up on line and on various forums where I brought the Time Bandit name back to life and it's just stuck.

Time Bandit sounded familiar. Can't remember much about that movie, though. Might've been a book I read.
Thought about using my old CB handle, but 'Pigpen' just doesn't really cut it for me, these days. . . (yes, it was from 'Peanuts', but not due to any lack of sanitary habits of my own )

My last name is Peterson, and my dads nickname for me as a toddler was stinkpot, I'll let you use your imagination lol

He was in the 4th Marines at Iwo Jima, so the patch.

Well Nik is my first name and 1165 was the U-boat my great grandfather served on.

A bow hunting mate of mine of Greek heritage labled me Thanatos(the bringer of death and forboding) after a shoot one day.
The name stuck.
My avatar is my old Royal Tasmanian Regiment hat badge.
