Congratulations Maxine on sort of picking up where your father left off.
Unfortunately, I had no desire to devote my life to the shoe repair business, couldn't see any money in it as it is a dieing trade.

This trade is a dieing art. There are more that are not repairable than are repairable. I started working there when I was 6 years old, I am still able to do it. I still do all of my own leather work.

It's very good your doing your own leather work, keep on doing it.
I know a guy who was doing it as a hobby, all kind of leather works, just for a hobby, he still is and he got himself a very well payed second job. Not doing any military related jobs (!!), mainly bikers and horses things.

    Hi,
My job, is being the owner of the Channel Islands Military Museum here in Jersey, Channel Islands. If you would like to see the museum and other items from my collection then go to German WW2 Militaria - Home
The museum is housed in a German bunker and contains a collection of German and civilian items from the Occupation of the island.
    All the best,
    D
