Stuka f,
That looks painfull, I hope everything heals up OK.
No helmet law here. I am fully aware of the risk. Everyone
who rides goes down eventually. You just hope it's not going
to be a bad one. I've been riding for 40 years and have had
my share of road rash. but (so far) nothing serious.
Live to ride-Ride to live
Thanks Chopperman, it heals quiet good. I am doing what the doctor said; "drink a lot"!! My wife keeps on telling me he added; milk , but I didn't hear that one!!
Not wearing my helmet neigther...but even with a helmet when your ar slamming your head the way I did only a fully closed helmet would have helped.
I' ve been also for nearly 40 years on a bike, the next bike to come would be the 13 th...
Only two have been total loss; thise one and my 3 th one.
Those two major accidents a some minor one's where never my fault...
We also need helmets here in Canada. But - that said - I think I'd wear one even if I wasn't legislated too. I've had a lot of close calls!!
Cheers!
Rob
Me too Rob. If i'm only going in the ciity on my quad unless it's raining i don't bother. But i ALWAYS wear gloves & protective clothing, never shorts & tee-shirt. I hate seeing that with a lot of bikers. Stewy S

No shorts !!
...But yes I do wear slippers and a T shirt on my bike.
But I do not get on my bike with the idea of falling off.
I went in a curve to the right into the side of a car who was coming from the other direction and cutting short his curve on my side of the road.
I couldn't avoid thise one.
I do ride winter and summer,+/- 20.000 km / year!
I do wear protective clothing in the winter, but just to be protected of the cold.
Hmm..If you lived here you'd know why i wear protective clothing all year. They're certainly the worst drivers i've ever encountered. They all think they're on tractors here. Indicators & traffic lanes mean absolutely nothing to them. Stewy S
I've seen some bad ones also. Even had a couple friends
die. Even if they had been wearing helmets they would
not have survived. That's the chance you take. I seldom
wear a helmet, only in the rain or cold or if I am going into
a large city where I do not know the roads or traffic. I
always always always wear good boots and long pants.
I believe every new rider should take an approved riders
safty coarse. ( I even made my wife take it ) I also think
that new riders should not be allowed to ride some of the
super bikes of the last 20 years. Nothing in my opinion seams
stupid as to let a 16 year old kid with no experience buy a
Ninja capable of going almost 200 mph. Plus it seams if that
is the kind of bike they own, then the proper riding attire is
shorts and flipflops with a girl on behind in a bikini. Granted--
my boots and heavy jeans wont do much but its better than
nothing at all.
-------Sorry, didn't mean to preach. I enjoy riding, Its one of my
passions and tend to get a little excited sometimes
