Pretty amazing the condition of the ship in the few photos. Even one of an International Harvester tractor that looks like someone just shut it off and walked away from it.

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Some truly breathtaking photographs there. Frozen in time at the moment she was lost all those years ago. Hopefully the depth of the wreck keeps the scavengers away.

I think it is 17,000 feet . Good luck trying to steal a deck gun or tryinh to get the tractor working again from that depth

    A great find.
My wife's dad was on a USN aircraft carrier during ww2. I wish that I would have
had a chance to meet him.

The depth should protect it. Other ships, war graves actually, have not survived the pillaging. You might recall the Dutch naval vessels, known wreaks that disappeared off the sea bed near Java, and I believe the British battleship Prince of Wales, suck by Japanese aircraft near Singapore, was also quietly scrapped. But in much shallower waters.

I saw the news report locally and they found a sailor who manned one of the AA guns. He could even identify his gun from the video. NH

It was just yesterday that I read an article that the search was beginning! Was surprised to see the news today that they found her on the first pass!

And pretty amazing.....looks like she just gently sank to the bottom right side up! Almost looks like she is still under sail on the ocean floor
