Hi guys,

I got my thread the other day! It looks good and I'm glad I took your advice. Now for the sewing part... I know where everything goes. Any advice on the actual process of sewing it back on? Is there any specific kind of needle or period application technique I should use? I would appreciate close-up photos of the stitching on other original waffenrocks.

before you storm ahead - and it was a better suggestion that
you find some 'affordable' period thread to use.........

Here is a good reference for you. It is a thread on cut off insignia still attached to uniform pieces.

I think you need to find another eagle to put on the tunic as the one you have is a officers eagle and it should have a other ranks eagle on it as the tunic shoulder boards are ranked to a NCO
