Well I try Brasso and lighter fluid and again not remove anything. Whatever this paint made of it's killer good. They need lab test on it and use it for NASA or something lol!

It wasn't lighter fluid, just oil bottle. Ok I try acetone as well.

Well now I know there is no decal under the paint. How do I know this? Well one year later the painted camo is flaking off all over the helmet including the dark brown decal area.

It was in water for 65 years and seller used a wax on it after the rust removal cleaning.

Any way to stop this rust?

    Thanks

Keep in a dry place, rewax it with a thin layer of beeswax or give it a spray with WD 40 and wipe off the excess!...

Thanks but lots of relic guys hate any oils on them. I did it once and see what they mean, it changes the rust color to dark.
