Klewang Restoration

Hello fellow collector, recently along with this shell Found the match! Front seam, swivel bail shell i got this local made klewang. Although it's local made but it featured some of the knil klewang standard. It's crude made, no stamp maker, point of the tip of blade has been cut, and there's some chips on the blade.
And i notice that almost all of part of this sword is blackened/browned or is this a lacquered or a rust?

So is there any way to restore this klewang? Or should i leave this sword like this?

Hi.
I think you should leave it as it is. Any attempt at restoration will surely damage an pretty interesting relic beyond economic repair. Looks like it has been coated in some sort of varnish to stop further rusting..
