re: M 16 German helmet?repaint it??
thats a cracking looking ww1 lid you have, the patina that helmet has looks terrific!! if it was mine i would leave it well alone and not even think about covering it up with paint!!!! like the history of an old man using it for his nuts and bolts... great find mate

re: M 16 German helmet?repaint it??
so,you are saying to finish the cleaning and keep it without paint?
what about to add a repro liner and chinstrap just to see it complete?what is this helmet price estimated?

re: M 16 German helmet?repaint it??
Great helmet !
Don't "clean" it anymore ! !
Leave it as is, and don't paint it !
It's worth more the way it is.... !

It looks great the way it is you should just leave it like that, mabey add an old liner and chinstrap to complete it though.

You can "age" the rivets when you find an old matching liner.........

Re: M 16 German helmet?repaint it??
just one more question please,
What RAL code is closer to the WW1 fieldgrau color?7009 or the 6006?
I think the second is more correct to it.
