Should i clean this helmet it has just surface rust?
I don't think I would clean it. Leave it and display it as is!
Where can i post this helmet to get people's opinions on it?
It's in the right section. Leave it as it is; cleaning it up will not make it any more valuable nor will it make it look nicer. Just appreciate the patina.
You could try an oxalic acid bath but personally I wouldn't recommend it for this helmet as there doesn't seem to be enough original paint left to make the acid trick worthwhile. I think it's better left 'as is' and your pennies saved for a better example like...I dunno...a camo perhaps?
Leave it as is - cleaning it up will only destroy
it's originality.........!

Looks good as it is!...
It wouldn't do any harm to go over it with a beeswax polish. it will stop the oxidisation without ruining the finish of the helmet.
I would leave the surface alone as the others have indicated. It looks great as it is.
