    People restore antique furniture and paintings, so IMO there's nothing 'wrong' with this at all. It's now a great display piece.

    Super restoration, there is a great deal of negativity around restoring these models of helmet it's all down to personal choice, personally I like what you have created and feel the paint will prolong it's condition for many a year to come, restoring history should not be a crime

    No problems restoring relic condition pieces into whatever you like.
    I am particularly anti-ss, but that's my choice.

    It is sad to see how fast the leather is deteriorating on originals over the years-it is inevitable.

    So having preached the above ( ) , I just couldn't resist this very cheap relic. There are some nice threads about restoring/refurb'ing helmets on this forum, so this may just be a nice little project for the long winter evenings.....
