M42 Restoration - Dent Removal???

Article about: Hi all, My latest project, just picked up a rare Q64 M42 helmet. Nice overall helmet with repro liner and strap for \\$300 including shipping to New Zealand from the United States. Only thing

    Great post, I just bought M42 that is battle damaged and for sure ill have to fix some dents. Ps how do i look up codes from my helmet, is there any website??

    Great job !! I personally don't fix or try to make my relics look new or otherwise.. That's why their called "Relics".. as found.. to speak for themselves... G

    While it is a good book, it is not the be all and end all ( even the author says that )
    It is just one book in the collectors arsenal and it won't specifically identify what your helmet once was - just what it may have been...... within one lot ( and we don't know how many helmets were in a lot ) there could have been Heer, Luftwaffe, police, kriegsmarine, SS ... who really knows?

    Did that manufacturer marked the size and lot number in this arrangement? Most of the time I see size markings on the right temple and production numbers in the middle.

    Yes Quist began this practice on the M40 helmet.

    Wouldn't it just, no sadly....just a nicely aged quality replica which was sold as such to offset overall cost a little.
