new items. How to clean the rust??

Article about: I would not want to remove the original finish on these relics with anything abrasive ! A spray of 'WD40' or '3in1' oil, and then a rub with a cloth is all I'd give them.

What about Renaissance metal de-corroder...has anyone used it on any kind of rust? I just got some to experiment with but I'm unsure of the concentration and how much water to miz it with at what temperature. Right now I have a cheap, rusted tinnie in a warm diluted soak.

    Any thoughts?
    Regards,
    Adam
