That's a good idea buddy, I have seen some of the bundesgrenzschutz Helmets which were a distinct colour of Green, with the Border Guards Decals. I do not know what colour the green would be called though, so the spray could be hard to source.

Great idea,I am not sure if anyone has done that before

It's coming along nicely, I bet you can't wait to see what it's like when it's finished.
    I know I can't.

Thanks Jonathan, very kind of you buddy, again I am really not sure what top coat to do yet, but as I am doing this resto on the cheap, I will probably start with as close to feldgrau as possible, and then maybe put some decals on??

Thanks again for your kind words and encouragement,Gary

this lid imho would be ideal as a bgs helmet as they were initially issued old stocks of m40's and 42's but repainted in the textured moosegreen it might also not upset the third reich purists on here, but then again gary its comming on well so far mate and we have some superb weather for painted right now
    Regards James
