    the helmets on this thread are really good restoraions and look the part, it is good to see that they are being looked after an not just scrapped. Here is a helmet for Neil, as he want to do a D.A.K,
    Restoration. Neil the D.A.K decal was not an official decal,
    Soldiers painted them on there selves, Here is one for you.

    hey peter no problem at all. one last thing once you finish the helmet apply a few coats of testors dull coat to the whole helmet and age to youre liking. happy restoring and good luck!

    those are some great looking restored helmets , i am of the opinion that as long as your honest about it being restored then we all know where we stand ,i bet you would be amazed how many so called original helmets have the odd reproduction part added , my favorite is your luftwaffe m1916 helmet i have a 1916 in relic condition and a ssch 39 i would love to restore these to there former glory Restored German helmets

    I like your Luftwaffe M42. You did a great job on the paint and ageing.

    The one I am doing at the moment will most likely be a single decal SS M40. I used 1944 Militaria's feldgrau dunkel paint and it turned out very nicely. Be warned, though, if you are looking for a textured finish you will need to get aluminum oxide from somewhere else as they don't include it with the spraypaint. The pictures on their website are a bit deceiving in that way, they lead to to believe you get some texture.

    Hey all, i am new to this forum, but i cant help but wonder how i add pics to the forum? Also, I wondered if any of the helmets you found in afghanistan, have ear cutouts? Well, plz reply, i found one on eBay and it is RUSTY! But i might get it!

    hi wit, beware of cut out helms on ebay ,most i have seen for sale on ebay are messed with aged fakes . best to post pics for advise before bidding......paul
