received today the decals from the Germanhelmetdecals.com - Real looking decals on German helmets.
They are the special edition metallic decals.
Have to choose one of them. The second would keep for future restoration.

    no we aren't !
The one and only decal applied. Now i will have to add the liner to finish it.It's on the way to my home.
The decal is fantastic, very strong and needs 2-3 coats of clear coat to finish.

Hi Giorgos, to be honest, personally I would not have touched the helmet.

The decals are not very good quality. I have used some of these to restore two helemts for re-enactor friends. The black background is poor and discoloured and looks purple. They did on the ones I had to use.

The biggest problem is the liner and chinstrap. This is fine for a WW1 or Reichswehr era helmet. But most double decal Heer helmets had the M1931 pattern liner and chinstrap fitted. Sorry.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Ade,
Thank you very much for your info about the helmet.I didn't know that.I'm new to the game and this is my second helmet without any value.I will add some things to my collection soon with greater value. We have some here in Greece.......
With the chinstrap now, when i was found the helmet one on the metal ends was remained rusty in the helmet. So i was think that this is the right chinstrap for the helmet.Never mind.
I will be greater as the time goes by.
Thanks for the reply and the info
    George

Nice job, I must say if it was my helmet I too would have restored it. Again as with many things to do with collecting, it comes down to personal taste and preference. I would also say that as with all reproduction items, there are many suppliers around the world, and some company's products are far better than others, I would always advise members to ask around on forums as to the best supplier for each particular repro part you require for your project, as that way you end up with a more authentic restoration.

It wouldn't convince any helmet collector. But for someone who is completely new to the subject it probably will give them the right impression.

    @ gasmasks, yes.
