Should I restore this Austrian m16 helmet?

Bought this one of ebay recently for around 40$. I've been thinking of taking it as a full on restoration project. I've done small repairs on spanish helmets before but never tried a restoration of this caliber. Is it too far gone or should I try and restore it, and if so how should I proceed?

I personally think it looks good as it is, but if you want to restore it, I recommend not cheaping out on parts for a start. Don't opt for a crappy reproduction liner that looks inaccurate because it is cheap. Spend the extra dough for a nice liner or chinstrap that looks accurate, or better yet, buy originals to put in it.
