Re: Trench Art from Ukraine
Song, of soldiery archaeologists -
" A dream dreamed me - I was found in a crater,
On bones lifted from earth,
A dream dreamed me - funeral notification, comes along with that it was alongside gone a that girl ...
I rise, with a rifle in a hand, with ferruginous blood on a ferruginous bayonet
Last trench, the last rest, to reach to the grave, my last fight
A dream, dreamed me that we had, time to reach
With earth in blood and blood on knee-boots,
A dream, dreamed me that dying a body,
We try souls to attack
A dream dreamed me - I was not identified
My medallion was a bullet broken,
A dream dreamed me - fragments reached,
From the heart of my, piece of earth,
A bloody sun, gets,up above the forest
And a company after a company to sky goes,
Broken through helmets, on ribs bandages, rottings letters, living dreams .
And black bones, in the frozen hands,
We lie by all platoon, in pine coffins,
Cartridges in a holder, in eye sockets water, I am without a new falling ordinary soldier .
A dream dreamed me. "

Great pics. You guys really pulled out all the stops!
I especially like the MG firing and the pic of one of my favourite guns; the PPSh with the helmet on top.
About the horrible Vodka; I only bought it for the name ;-)
Luxosowa is so smooth in comparison.
For you, in the west, not clean on a hand smart dealers use the brand of soviet history widely . Arrive to us in guests will see the Slavic soul truly !!!

Re: Trench Art from Ukraine
You know what, that Soviet-German memorial I actually for some reason.
Its not pretty, but then neither is war. It is attractive in an industrial sort of way. Black and brutish.
Nice touch with the bayonets and the K98 rifles in there.

Re: Trench Art from Ukraine
Before attack
When to death go, — sing,
And before it it is possible to cry.
After all the most terrible hour per fight —
Hour of expectation of attack.
Snow is pitted by mines around
Also has turned black from a dust mine.
Rupture — also dies the friend.
And, means, the death passes by.
Now my turn will come,
For me hunting goes one.
Rockets are asked by a firmament
And the infantry which has frozen in during snow.
It seems to me that I a magnet,
That I draw mines.
Rupture — and the lieutenant rattles.
And the death again passes by.
But we any more in forces to wait.
And us conducts through trenches
Stiffened enmity,
Bayonet perforating necks.
Fight was short. And then
We drank vodka ice,
Also picked out a knife
From under nails I blood another's.

Re: Trench Art from Ukraine
I actually really like the "War flower" artwork. I think in the first 2 images the blood colour looks deeper and more realistic, In the second images the blood seems a bit too red, I know it's just the photo. Maybe rather than the red splatters you could stain the metal with a red pigment or something more subtle. I still really like what you have done.

Re: Trench Art from Ukraine
Pictures of the war cross and the monument with the stork on the top are very moving. Thanks for showing. I am always surprized to see German SS reenactors in the Former Soviet Union areas, as I suspect that many elederly people are still living who rememebr the real soldiers of the SS with extreme distaste.

The matter is that people who remember soldiers SS remains very little. Has passed almost 70 years as the forged boots of Germans have left from my earth, it already other epoch - to the majority of my compatriots to spit on the history - it is sad, but truth. Therefore no problems with the population, at reenactors are present armies SS. Any aggression. Only surprise when it is passable in a uniform and equipment with the weapon through villages, during reconstruction. As that talked to the woman, years 90 (has been dressed in uniform SS) - she cried, remembered the youth, in occupation, terrible there was time... At me at the grandmother was in occupation, on northern caucasus. And the grandfather has passed all war, since the summer 1941 and till the summer 1945. The participant stalingrad fights. Held the fort in the Cherkass copper, in 1944. Has ended war in southern Germany, near Dresden...
