    Hi Andrew

Beautiful work! Thanks for showing what decades of dedication can produce. Skill like yours is disappearing fast nowadays. Do you do custom order works?

    Hi Green,
i'm not sure about decades. this was only my second attempt at carving wood. it took me 4 days. i'm still learning, and not ready to do work for other people yet. but thanks for thinking i have been doing it longer.

LOL, I thought it was your second rifle stock you have worked on. Wow, in that case, you have a talent, sir! That is great, wish I could do work like this in such a short time. I have carved wood and each time I ended-up with a sling-shot for my son.

lol on the sling shot. i just decided it was time to learn wood carving. i have done some stone carving over the years, and made a few other things, but never got into wood carving. i hope to improve with time.

Do keep it up! When you are ready, perhaps I may be your first customer.

Great carving Andrew. Hard to believe it is only your second attempt at it.
This looks like old-time 'Folk Art', except for the 'Black Forest' style oak
leaves. I like how you kept relative symmetry on both sides and made
that little curl or lip at the tip. You definitely have to keep the theme
    somewhat similar on the buttstock.

As you mentioned, soon you will refine your technique and the results
will be better, and even more realistic. I guess it's quite a relaxing
    hobby - much like whittling.

That old shotgun might end up being worth more than $50 !
Is it a Remington, Savage or Stevens.........?
    Regards,

    Steve.
