    Hi, This is not made of steel, but there isnt a place to put it.
    Sorry for posting it here.
    Anyway, found this baby today at an antique fair.
    Its a Portuguese Colonial pith helmet, undated example, but the newspaper inside the sweat band is dated 1952, so most likely it was made in the early 50`s.
    Dont see many of these around and the ones seen are around 100-120 euros.
    Got this one from two old ladys for 30!!!
    Cant beat that price

    Very cool sun helmet mate. Maybe I should add one of these to my wanted list. It does look to be the post WWII version and these were used until c1974.

    Just adding that as it has the cloth trim to the brim it is an OR's version, as officers would have a leather trim.

    I don't know if you noticed but I recently added a few more to my sun helmet collection.
