italian
Looks like a Model 33. NH
i first thought italian, but the vent holes look odd? and dont look far forward enough?
this only has 2 vents as well, does a m33 have a third to the rear?
Not an Italian M-33. From the pictures provided, this one has a brim in the front where the M33 does not. Also the liner is completely different, even for post war rebuilds.
As for what it is........no clue.

Michael

100% not italian.
try search here - .: World War Helmets - Plan du site :.
This is definately - no question - a Portuguese M40, in its original state with leather liner and chinstrap. Not quite the earliest version, which had a separate vent grommet, but otherwise as original as you get. These wwere later refurbished/remanunufatured as the M40-63, with a Riddel-type fabric strap liner and chinstrap. Look here for more pics and info - PORTUGUÉS 1940 . Good helmet.
Can't find any markings on it either.
