Article about: 9 Bought this recently from a militaria fair, it wa the RDF ERDL camo cover which caught my eye, it has a very faded ink stamp but i can just make out the 1979 date. The liner is maker marke

    I always think of Winston Churchill giving his famous V sign when i see the 1970's pattern off hand i think my cover is dated 1978 ,I still need to add a nice army example myself to put alongside my late 60's Air force issue Belgian M51

    Its a struggle to make out the date on yours Gunny... but I would plump for '71' at a push.

    Had a look on camopedia and they list three slightly different variations of the second generation ERDL (RDF), mine is the one with the distinctive "Blob with a tail" shape.

    Nice detective work Paul ,yours was not a pattern i was familiar with i must admit so good you found the same variation of this pattern to compare with
