    Default Italian M33?

This is one of the first helmets I bought at militaria show. The helmet was marked "Russian", and I paid $20-25 for it. I actually never questioned its nationality until yesterday when I thought I would confirm its origins. Much to surprise, it does not match the Russian helmets. I think it is an Italian M33. If so, is it WWII?

I guess I missed that thread, but it now looks like I have a WWII

that was a good price for a WWII Italian M33 , it has a nice well used battlefield relic look with the worn paint

it will look nice on a shelf

Yep, italian m33, great purchase for 25$, those have a similar look to the portuguese m40.
    Cheers.

I bought my first two helme ts, a 60s model American M1 and what I thought was a Russian helmet. I only bought the "Russian" helmet because I wanted a Cold War counterpart to what was obviously a newer M1. I paid $15 for the M1 in almost perfect shape and $25 for the Russian thinking I was getting ripped off for a helmet in such crappy shape.

Ah, children and fools, I guess
