Don't know the type

Article about: If I rub that helmet with a cloth with acetone, firstly little spots of the red paint vanish. So I have to continue with rubbing. But when I do that, I rub away the original colour in those

    Hi all,

I got this helmet from the fire dept of my village.
It was painted red after the war and used then as a fireman's helmet.

It was made in 1938 (print in the other side of the leather inside)
There is a mark on the inside of the helmet. It says:
1938 Beschaffungsamt für Heer und Marine

Does anybody know what kinr of helmet it is?
And how can I get the red paint of without damaging the original paint?

    Thank you ,

its an M35 helmet & you could either try paint stripper or acetone but do a patch test first to see which your more comfortable with to use

No it's not the only one. I have a 2 piece Gladiator Luftschutz helmet (also red). I scraped the red paint on the emblem with a kind of blade.
And the fire dept of my village have more. much more. You know, I live in a small village in Bavaria (Suzberg). And I think they used the old war helmets only here as helmets for the firemen.

    greetings,
