are the insignias interchangeable between the 1915 helmet and the 1936 type
Hello,
Official designation are : M1915 and M1926 (not 36)
roughly insignia can be of the M1915 design or M1937 design (rounded ones). although it was issued before WWII, the M37 design was not widely spread within the french army. the M15 insignia is far more representative (for instance in the infantry).
René, you didn't reply concerning the infantry helmet : don't you think that another helmet was on top of it ? (considering the marks around the shell).
Thanks

Sorry Mate,
You are most likely right on the rings it's not storage wear from my end.

Re: French Adrian M-26 Steel Helmets
I've seen many german helmets that had the "rings" from another helmet put on storage on top, but if i remember well that's the first french helmet i see....nice
Thanks

I would have to see the helmet to know , if it's complete with the original liner, chin strap , helmet badge, it could be a nice collector's item and more valuable
if it's just the shell with nothing else probably not much value
can you show photos?
