Help Identifying Helmet

Article about: Hey there. Was hoping someone could help me identify this helmet that I picked up in Afghanistan. There seems to be the remnants of a red star on the front. Not sure how clear it comes throu

    Hi Ben, I think it looks worse than it is, due to the lack of sweatband in the featured helmet. Certainly inspired by the US M1 helmet.

    Schachbrett, you can find these in eBay for 20-35 USD, there is almost alway one listed and in near mint condition as well. Shipping could cost you more than the helmet. Search for Yugo M59 however, as this is the proper designation for this helmet. The updated helmet is the Yugo M59/85 which has a removable/replacable liner. There is recent thread on this helmet, not too far back in the archives. Russ

    Thanks, I know everything you wrote. I was just curious, because they have small values in Croatia.
