Colt, nice gunners helmet! I just sold mine last summer and i am now sorry that i had. The paint finish was comparable to to yours.

fantastic collection, so much so that you must be able to help me with an id of an amercan helmet,two in fact. A local trade shop has two amerian style M1 s , both rusty , no liners , but inside both there is a nut in the top of the dome with a L shaped piece of metal facing downwards. As an ordinary liner wouldnt fit , what kind are these and what would they be worth? I think the guy wants £30 each.

sorry, perhaps i didnt make things too clear,there is no bolt through the dome and every thing looks factory fitted, the nut inside is holding this piece of L shaped metal in place all in all about 1 1/2" in length

The flag was my wifes step-dad. He fought in WWII in the PTO, mostly on Okinawa. We lost him about 5 years ago. Thanks for noticing!

Sorry, these are probably not U.S. made helmets. More likely a European clone(Belgian or Dutch)
