ive looks at the liner all i can see is 14 then below a small circle and inside the circle W above an elongated O if you can imagine what i mean

Then you have very rare combination.

The liner is made by Westinghouse in the USA. Later this liner has been refurbished by The Netherlands, with new straps and sweat band. The straps were fitted with the unique Dutch (two holes?) screws. All other manufacturers used hollow rivets.

I have seen many Dutch M-1 liners and clones, but never this combination. Very nice! If ever you want to part with it, let me know!

This liner does not belong in a Belgian helmet, by the way.

emile is it likely the liner chin strap is original to the liner it certainly looks like the usa period strap or would this of been replaced at the same time as the webbing many thanks james

James, the liner chin strap looks to be black to me and if so, is not a US chin strap. The Austrian chin straps were black, not sure about other countries that produced M-1 clones........
