I saw one on ebay and became interested since I never knew about the m37 - I know of m32 and m32/34 but not m37. It is based on m32, but what is the story aside from preparations for imminent war by the Czechs.

Hello Meyle77,
Interesting. I have never heard of this helmet. Do you have pics? Coiuld you describe the helmet in detail? You mention M37 and M38!?
Thanks,
Emile
I think it is this one - WWII CZECHOSLOVAK ARMY STEEL COMBAT HELMET MODEL 1937 | eBay - which is a bit of a surprise to me too, Emile. As far as I am aware there is simply the Vz.32, and these black ones with the vinyl-type liner pads are post-WW2 refurbished shells used by fire/police/civil defence and so on. I have not heard of a 'less robust' later edition of the 32, and if you look at this good site on Czech helmets, neither has he! - Èeskoslovenské pøilby
Hello Greg,
You are right without a doubt. Pre-war M32, post-war CD reissued.
Cheers,
Emile
yes, that's the one.
i assumed it had to be m32/34 shell with some sort of reworked liner.
thank you !
