hi
pegase
welcome to the forum pegase ,and can i say what a superb casco con ala, it looks great with the post war francoist eagle insignia regards james
Great helmet!..
That is a very nice looking helmet Pegase. I have a similar M26 Spanish helmet that was refurbed during 1943 and was wondering if the Colonel could give a little more detailed info about the post war badge. I would like to add the correct one to my helmet (It has the attachment added) and I would like to know more about these.
Thanks

hi phil well from what i know early helmets were produced without the badge plate ,plates were added after 1943 in some cases the eagle device was brazed directly to the combat helmet, two patterns of device are encounted both bear a spread eagle with cross but differ in the crown design ,following the death of franco in 1975 a royal crown was used ,hope this helps james
Thanks Colonel. The 2 badges I found on ebay showed one with the crown on the eagles head and the other the crown was held just above the head of the eagle by the eagles wing tips.
That's why I was asking. I was wondering if they were used at different times.
Thanks again for the info!!
