Hi JBR, I have a Spanish contact on another forum, he has a vast collection of Spanish M1's. I am not sure if he would know if these helmet models are available in the Spanish surplus market.
I could contact him, and find out?
Regards.

Thanks Opex. It might be worth asking, if you have time. But please don't go out of your way on my behalf. It is just an idle thought. Kind offer, though, and much appreciated. Best Regards,
Another place I forgot to look: Mannie Gentile's Collection - Mannie Gentile: Combat Helmets of the 20th Century: Spanish Military Police (M1 clone) Steel Helmet Best Regards,
Hi JBR,Great find!
Opex
Thanks Opex. Glad you like ir. Best Regards,
Small update: I asked the person who sold me the helmet how it came his way and he confirmed that it came from Spain. That is to say, Spanish 'army surplus/carboot', not UK 'army surplus/carboot'. He's currently listing a steel shell like mine with straps but minus most of the exterior paint and the liner. It's listed only as 'Helmet', I think. Best Regards,
Here's the eBay link: helmet maybe USA | eBay
Hi JBR, thanks for the tip mate.
Regards.
You're welcome Opex! Did you buy it? Best Regards,
Nice shell. The liner with mine is very fragile. It must be made of a plastic that degrades over time. It's possible some ex-US liners were used in M65s, I think. So you could put a white painted postwar example in until a Spanish one turns up. Best Regards,
