What can you tell me about this helmet?

I've had this lid for ages but I don't know anything about it. any ideas?

Hi , looks like a US M1 late War shell ( rear seam) with standard 80's Liner, the Woodland cover looks like someone's carried out a "mock up" of Vietnam era graffiti on it, and not particularly authentic looking.

I like the patina on the shell certainly looks like it's seen some action, great piece thanks for sharing!

I agree, looks like someone faked the VN war Callander on the cover, IMO

it certainly looks as opex states a late war shell ,and been given an upgrade at some point ,the liner is a 1983 model and missing its nape strap ,im guessing but i would say the chinstrap is cupped if so its the m75 upgrade issued from 1975 onward and very similar to the composite pasgt chinstrap cup ,i think we can dismiss this vietnam style period graffiti as its written on the m1981 woodland cover ,hope this helps ,james
