Article about: Hi all ! i was at a friend place and my eyes came across this helmet on one of her shelf and she didn't know nothing about it a friend gave it to her . So i was looking on the forum to find

Hello Fenchy,
This is indeed a Dutch helmet. A M34 to be exact. Most likely made during the war for Civil Defense or Police use.
The liner certainly is correct, as is the long strap.
Army helmets had an oval copper plate soldered on. Depicting the the coat of arms.
Many army helmets had these plates removed and were sprayed black, but then you would be able to see the olive green in the inside bowl. The leather ring on which the liner flaps are sewed, would be marked with the letters CM and the year of acceptance.
Civilian helmets were not so marked.
