What kind of helmet?

Anyone knows what kind of helmet? I can't really see the shape of the helmet bell, but maybe the chin-strap might give a clue...

As rudders already stated Dutch M53, looks a nice period piece ,the netting and Hessian looks genuine to the shell, I assume an early model judging by the chinstrap too!

I had the same helmet with the same chinstrap when I was in the Dutch army in 1986.

UPDATE:

The lid arrived today...the final price of it was: 4 USD

Looks in good shape...Looks like the net and cover needs to be replaced (they're in a bad shape) and I have to find an inner plastic helmet for this as well.

Markings: VDN 1 83
I guess it was made in 1983...

you could use a piece of black inner tube from a truck tire to go over the netting, thats a common practice used to hold covers or nets in place

no need to buy another net if you use a piece of tire tube
