Steelhead....I've seen Italian examples of what appear to be M26 (or maybe their own production). Not 100% sure but they look like M26.

This is one croix de Lorraine, for FFI soldiers during the liberation. The croix is in the V for victory.

I'm also thinking Spanish civil war used M26 adrian. Can't quite distinguish the emblem due to the flash, but a falange would make sense. Can you make a photo without a flash in natural daylight?
falange.... I had to run that one through google pictures!

I'm straying from the proper forum but I have a G43 sniper rifle with similar Croix V and symbol carved into the stock. Thanks for solving a puzzle for me. Can post a pic if anyone likes once I'm back home at the end of the week.

The Croix is the symol of General De Gaulle. You can find such insignias on cars, trucks....

What time period is the symbol dated to? I am wondering because It was mentioned above that my helmet may be from the Spanish Civil War 1936 era.

I'm away right now but when I get back I can pull the old rifle out and take pictures. It's been a while but I'm pretty sure they are similar. they are not in the same arrangement however. And hopefully I'm not mistaken. Will post in the appropriate gun forum but put a link here for you. May take 3 or 4 days.
