Midsummer Vintage Festival

Hi Guys, last weekend my group, 2nd Guards Rifle Div, along with Neil's "GD" Reccon group did a small vintage vehicle show at Ashby Magna, Leicestershire, England. This was a very small turnout for us with only 7 of us there on each day. But the event was a trial run for us.

We had great time, despite some very mixed weather, with it raining most of the day on Saturday while Sunday was sunny but with high winds.

Forum friend Ian C came along on Sunday to say Hello and see our displays.

A nice relaxed show with a great potential for the future.

We had a "Regimental dinner"

on Saturday night. This was just a bit of fun with a "liberated" candelabra.

The youngsters practised their field craft while the old Sgt did the washing up! Actually we all take turns in doing the camp chores like fetching water, chopping fire wood and washing up.

We will certainly do this event again next year. Thanks to "GD" Reccon for the invite to attend.

Talking of washing. One of the guys finally washed his pilotka. It was filthy. Here was the water.

then next day he spilt milk all over it and had to wash it again

On a more serious note, it does make you think about the real problems of finding enough water in the field to survive and remain healthy? We use two original Luftwaffe water cannisters, plus a modern 20 litre plastic jerrican as a hidden reserve. We get through a lot of water in a day.

It has been Noted by the Special Department that examples of Inferior Gitlerite Weapon Systems being used for the Defence of your Battle Position, this is within the Norm for a Hasty Defence, however it does raise questions into your Command Conforming to the Scales of Norms for Ammunition reserve and resupply which endangered the Defence of the Front, such Liquidation of Combat Efficiency has been Noted and forwarded to Moscow Centre...

The matter is under Investigation.....
