I want to do this if I ever have the space. It will cost me more in diplomacy / appeasement with my good lady than financial damages I reckon....

    Cool project

Oh no not Robertshaw !! My least favourite so called Historian , no doubt he was in the Officers dug out as he thinks he is an Army Officer !!

He nicked the idea from Dominic at the Tommy Bar in Pozieries on the Somme , Dom has had a large Trench system in his garden for many years and it is way better than Robertshaws garden , if you ever pass by the Tommy you've got to have a look !!
Oh in that case then, Booooooooooooo !! Booooooooooooo !

I don't have a high regard for this bloke....and the fact he sold the house but kept the land is bemusing......surely you'd think he'd have been planning on staying a while to go to such an effort.....and 24 hours does seem quite lame, need a week to just get a feel for it

Ive been suggesting this to the good lady for years, the nearest I got was a proviso that it had a croquet lawn on top ??????

I told her she could use a mills bomb in place of a ball and a toffie apple mortar as a mallet!!!

When I was stationed at Kirton In Lindsey in 1973 the NAAFI had to shut down. The woman in charge of it buggered off with the takings, so we didn't even have a queue to stand in! But spending 24 hours in a pretend trench is hardly the same as doing it for real while under fire is it?
