Not a great view due to the crowds, but it is the Tiger tank. It sounded much better than it did when first restored 3 years ago.

I got to play on the T34/85 which the museum kindly loaned our group for the weekend. As you can see I caught the sun.

    Cheers, Ade.

I'm sure I heard on the grape vine that they blow up the engine shortly after rebuild. Apparently the cylinder walls on the Maybach V 12 series, are very thin, and thus prone to major component failure if anything goes wrong. Very typical German automotive engineering, excessive over engineered for the task in hand, and built to a extremely high tolerance. So very much unlike the engine in the Churchill tank, that knock out this Tiger 1, with its very British "that will do" two Bedford lorry engines bolted together in a horizontality opposed set up, or boxer as there known these days.

I had a great day and it was good to meet up with Ade again, here are a few detailed pic's of SDKFZ's newly restored Stug. As always restored to a high standard. I liked the side skirts showing the original battle scars, obviously damage picked up before it was sent to the Crimea and sunk on route.
