    Looking at this fifties propaganda film, I noticed M-1 helmets with rivets on the steel shell.

    Is there any knowledge about Taiwan adapted M-1's or even Taiwan produced helmets in these years. Apparently these are different from the mainland conversions, since they have US type chinstraps and not the leather ones.

    I wonder.

    they look like post war Taiwan made copies? the shells look smooth and the swivel bales look a little different than US type?

    my guess is these are a mixture of US and Taiwan shells, by that time they were manufacturing their own gear, I have a early Taiwan mfg copy of a US M1 Garand bayonet from the 60's

    Looks like that last pic posted is one of the many Japanese type 90 that were used by Taiwan. I have one in my collection with the modified liner attachments.
