Hello, here is a photo of a friend in Latvia's relatives. She would like to know about the Latvian soldiers? pictured, so she can write the info on the back of the photo for her 10 year old son and other family to know about in the future.

I would like to help her find out more about these soldiers, their rank, branch of service...any information if possible.

Help to identify these old soldiers will be much appreciated.

This may not be the correct section, so the Admins may move this to the best area if needed. Thanks.

    Another "Bump" for this post.

Does anyone know some info about these soldiers in pics I have shown?
    Any help will be appreciated.

If this post is in the wrong section, could maybe the Mods move it to the correct section to maybe help to get some answers about my girlfriends relatives in these photos.

    Thanks, Steve

I'm afraid I have little information about the two soldiers...but some information is better then none. All I can say is that the one on the left is a kareivis (private). The man on the right however I have no idea what kind of uniform it is. This thread has some information about the Latvian army:

    Latvian tunic

This website also has ranks and army badges (Latvian text)

    uniformologija.lv — Latvijas armijas dienesta pak?pju apz?m?jumi

    Latvian army reference book (1936):

    http://cgi.ebay.it/1936-LATVIA-Natio...item483c68bd0d

Sorry I couldn't provide more information

Hello Barons, paldies, yes the two soldiers. I do not know what village or town they were from. I just would like to find out more about the soldiers, their ranks, branch of service, what army...any information about the 2 soldiers if possible. Red Collector said already the one on left is the Private kareivis rank. Is this Latvian Army? Maybe on right is not a soldier? civil service maybe?
