Default Russian Czarist era badge – ID?

    Hello,

I am posting this badge on behalf of a friend who wants to identify it and get an idea of rarity and value. It appears to be a Russian Czarist era badge. It is made of gold plated brass and measures 53x42 mm. The rear fastening is missing but evidently was a pinback style.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Tony

Since no one else is going to give it a try, I will. It looks like a centennial badge, probably for a regiment, unit or a military school that celebrated 100 years in 1914. Besides that I have no idea what it would be. As for rarity and value I'm sorry but I have no idea. I don't know much but since no one else is answering, I figured I would.

Slim pickings here too, I'm afraid.

This appears to be the monogram of Tsar Alexander I who reigned 1801-1825, so consistent with 1814 date for raising of regiment that celebrated its centenary in 1914.

Best of luck with your search.

Date of 1814-1914 is 100 years of taking Russian in Paris. Seen the badge of the Russian forum Faleristics, said it was a fantasy. Fiction
