    Wow...nice.

We don't see these often, and now 2 in two days (one from another member).

    A nice looking piece.

I have read that they developed this folding bayonet so that it could remain fixed to the rifle at all times but it did not prove to be practical so they then developed the scabbard.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

I believe the intention of the folding function was that the bayonet could be left affixed to the rifle and folded when not in use. There was a cutout in the underside of the stock into which the blade would fit.

A lot of them have recently appeared on the market. Evidently, someone has discovered a cache of them somewhere.

Nice folding bayonet. Brodie is spot on with the described use. The soldiers did not like the system so there were many folding bayonets that were welded into the fixed position and then subsequently produced in a fixed model.

The other one is not for a Carcano mod.38 but for a smg Beretta 38A, made for the Italian PAI.
