    Hello Germanski, nice Franco guard buckle. I am in need of one for my collection. I've been sidetracked with my Totenkopfs and stickpins but I'm sure I'll venture back into the Spanish militaria soon. Keep posting.

    Hello Germanski, the Franco Guard buckle you posted is the first model 1938. The one in the picture looks like an officers cut out version model 1938. I think the other type you mentioned is the 2nd pattern established in 1944 and used until 1977 by Franco's guard / escort dressed in black uniforms. Here is an example below
